Back in the 1980s, well before organic and natural products had made any sort of splash in the United States, Herbaceutical’s founders were so inspired by the availability of natural products in Europe that they decided to bring nontoxic hair color formulations from Italy to the United States, where they were not yet available. They developed Naturcolor, an herbal-based permanent hair color gel for chemically sensitive people, well ahead of the revolution in natural hair and body care that would come years later.
Naturcolor has been handcrafted with care in small batches – never mass-produced – from the finest Italian pigments since the beginning, and it always will be. We use these pigments because we believe no one else in the world pays more attention to quality and detail than the Italians who make ours.
We blend these pigments with plants and herbs like burdock, gotu kola, and hops that have been used for thousands of years to keep hair strong and supple and prevent hair loss and rich shea butter to nourish hair and leave it feeling silky smooth.
